New Adult Application applies to any adult leader with the Boy Scouts of America (9/5)
This form replaces any previous adult leader applications, which are no longer accepted.
The new form includes a new authorization and disclosure statement authorizing the BSA to conduct a criminal background check. This form is now required of new applicants to provide proper authorization for the adult leader approval process.
Also on the new form is an opportunity for the applicant to indicate interest in serving in a new position in the unit - the ScoutParent Unit Coordinator (position code "PC"). The role of the ScoutParent Unit Coordinator is to regularly keep parents informed of their children's activities and to encourage each parent to get involved in a specific role with the unit's program or administration. More information on the ScoutParents Initiative can be found at www.ScoutParents.org.
To assist our units in ensuring the new Adult Applications are used, next week the Heart of America Council will mail five applications to each of the more than 1,200 unit leaders in our program. Applications are also available at our Council Service Center at 10210 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.

Sub-Districts formed (8/19)
n an attempt to be more efficient in our service of Red-Tailed Hawk District units, we have broken the district into 2 Sub-Districts. We ask that you call the Executive whose Sub-District your unit falls in with any needs. This is to prevent Bridgete and I from either doubling our efforts with one unit, or neglecting to respond to the needs of any units. Thank you all for your attention to this.
District Executive Bridgete McKenna will be serving those units that are in the Olathe School District, Spring Hill School District, and the LDS units. (Red-Tailed Hawk District Sub-2)
District Director Dewey Barr will be serving those units that are in the Blue Valley School District, and all Private Schools. ( Red-Tialed Hawk District Sub-1)
