Training Coordinator Information

Cub Scout Coordinator    Boy Scout Coordinator
  1. Thank you to all of you who have agreed to be Training Coordinators for your units!! To those units who have not yet identified a Training Coordinator, we still need your help. The attached job description will help you know what your responsibilities are.
  2. We have been asked by the Council Training Committee to update our district's training records. The Council's goal is 100% trained leaders. Their records only reflect 63% trained leaders in our district.
  3. As Training Coordinator, we need your help to initiate and maintain a training inventory of the trained status of the leaders in your unit. The attached Unit Inventory of Training will help you do that. Reproduce as needed.
  4. We need you to help us keep track of those in your unit who have taken Fast Start or who have taken any training outside the district. The attached Training Update Report will help you do that. Reproduce as needed.
  5. We hope to facilitate good two way communication between the units and the training teams with regard to training status and training needs.

Cub Scout Training Coordinator Responsibilities
"Every boy deserves a trained leader."
  1. Complete a Unit Training Inventory.
  2. Conduct Fast Start Training for new leaders in unit.
  3. Coordinate with Committee Chairman and Cubmaster to show youth protection video to boys.
  4. Communicate unit training needs to District Training Team.
  5. Inform unit leaders of training opportunities available at district and council levels.
  6. Encourage all unit leaders to become trained.
  7. Using the Training Update Report, notify the District Training Chairman or District Registrar of unit leaders who have completed Fast Start Training and unit leaders who have taken any training outside of the Red-Tailed Hawk District.
Boy Scout Training Coordinator Responsibilities

  3. Coordinate with Committee Chairman and Scoutmaster to show youth protection video to boys.
  4. Communicate unit training needs to District Training Team.
  5. Inform unit leaders of training opportunities available at district and council levels.
  6. Encourage all unit leaders to become trained.
  7. Work with the Scoutmaster to facilitate periodic junior leader training within the troop, and inform junior leaders of advanced training opportunities at the council and national levels.
